Maurício d'Orey

Sound Designer / Re-recording Mixer

Mauricio began his journey in the sound world back home in Portugal where after taking a degree in sound and image he spent a few years freelancing and working in sound post houses, which allowed him to discover the potentialities of sound design and the collaborative effort to tell a story.

In 2009 Mauricio had the opportunity to join the sound post production MA at the NFTS and move to the UK. Since then and in between several individual awards he's been having the privilege of working on many awarded features and shorts like the already cult film "The Human Centipide"; "The Eagleman Stag", winner of the Best Animated Short at the 2011 BAFTA awards; "Dia de Los Muertos", winner of the Best Animated Short at the 2013 Academy Awards or "Neon Bull", award winner at this year's Venice, Toronto and Hamburg Film festivals so far...

On a commercial side, Mauricio has had the priviledge of working with companies like Bullion, Mother London, The Film House, 3DD, Planet Jump, Indy 8, Smokin Barrel, Parkville Pictures, Freestate, Maverick or Plus One Amsterdam on several amazing projects for brands like ADIDAS, Google, The Guardian, Heineken, Stella Artois, amongst many more...

Based in between London and Porto, Mauricio is always on the move working and collaborating in projects all around the globe whilst working constantly on the detailed obsession for the perfect sound for the perfect moment.
